Double doors provide a much wider aperture, allowing for the installation and maintenance of large equipment like wide distribution boards, complex switchgear, or multiple control panels. The floor-mounted design ensures a stable, high-load capacity base for heavy industrial components.
Yes. Most of our double door enclosures are rated to IP54 or IP55, providing robust protection against rain, snow, and dust. Our GRP models are particularly effective outdoors as they are UV-stabilised and naturally rust-proof.
We offer these enclosures in GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester), Stainless Steel, and Galvanised Steel. GRP is the standard for non-corrosive, maintenance-free use, while Stainless Steel is often selected for high-security or hygienic environments.
To ensure a weatherproof seal across the wider opening, many of our double door cabinets use a three-point locking system. This secures the door at the top, middle, and bottom, compressing the seals evenly to prevent moisture ingress.
Typically, double door enclosures feature a 'master' and 'slave' door configuration. The master door is opened first to release the locking mechanism, followed by the slave door, providing a completely unobstructed opening without a central vertical pillar.
Absolutely. These cabinets often come with 18mm thick treated plywood backboards or galvanised steel mounting plates, which are designed to support substantial weights, such as large industrial meters and heavy-duty cabling.
Our standard stock colours are Moss Green (14 C 39) and Light Grey (10 A 07). These are the industry standard for blending into both natural landscapes and industrial settings, though other RAL colours can be manufactured for specific projects.
